Butter Tarts

I'm back!

It's been a few days since the perogies post.  We've had a lot of visitors since then so there hasn't been time to get the next recipe on.  Well folks, the wait is finally over.  My perogy research led me to a wikipedia page that listed various "Canadian" dishes which led me to today's blog.... Butter Tarts!  I remember the days in Brandon of going to the local bakery with my Dad for coffee time and having one of these sugar filled tarts. I haven't had a butter tart in years, so upon seeing how many guests we would have over this week thought that this would be a great chance to make a nice dessert from my childhood for our guests.

Perogies - Bacon & Cheddar/Spinach, Artichoke & Feta

Have a Saturday afternoon with an empty flat and some time to kill?  Why not make some delicious perogies?  That was my train of thought yesterday. Whether homemade or store bought (homemade preferred of course) I love perogies. Growing up in rural Manitoba one develops a long lasting relationship with these tasty potato filled treats.

Welcome my friends

Hello people of the world and welcome to my cooking blog.

My name is Trevor and I love to cook.  I get so much joy from making a great meal and having people enjoy it.  I have one little problem though... I can't stand when people bother me while I'm cooking.  I am generally a very relaxed and mellow person, but for some reason when you get me in front of a stove I turn into a bit of an ass.  So this blog is going to be a way for me to get my recipes out to people who want them so then everybody can stay out of my kitchen while I'm cooking.

My goal is for all of my recipes be simple to make and not cost much.  Great cooking on a budget.  With every recipe I will include the cost of all the ingredients.  I'm living in Germany right now, so everything will be done in Euro.

I've already done my cooking for today, so there will be no recipe or picks for today's meal.

Tomorrow I will have the flat to myself so will start off the blog in wonderous fashion by making Perogies!  It's a bit time consuming, but damn are they delicious. I will be making potato, spinach and feta cheese filling for the vegetarians and bacon cheddar for the people that love bacon (so everybody that isn't vegetarian).
